Vine Borers in Life

i recently discovered a disturbing event in my garden. VINE BORERS! As adorable as they may be, these creatures were killing my squash, pumpkin, and cucumber plants. After some research I began extracting the vine borer larvae from the vines. You see the eggs were left on the plant; and as the larvae grow they bore into the plant eating their way to full maturity while killing the vine. Since then I discovered planting more fragrant plants near my vines in the future confuses the vine borers thus protecting the plants.

Throughout this process I gently felt the Spirit in me bring to mind the Fruit of the Spirit in Galations 5:22. My thoughts were then directed to the vine borers in life. For me, some are deep in my own soul caused by others, circumstances or bad decisions on my part. Some are external sources in the form of people with their own vine borers carrying that pain or sickness to others. Many of us do not realize we carry these invisible destroyers within killing the fruit meant to grow in our lives for ourselves and others. Do you have a vine borer? if you want to know just ask God to reveal the source and to extract it before the the fruit is lost. And remember to keep the lovely fragrant things in your life to keep the vine borers away.
