During the pandemic I had my house painted by a crew of two - Jimmy and Joey. Friendly and skilled hard workers. Jimmy shared his testimony.

He told of a back injury from a fall and medications that led to an addiction. After trials and separation from him family, Jimmy found himself living in his truck in a convenience store parking lot with no money or hope.

One night he'd had enough and was setting up the exhaust to feed into the cab of his truck. To his surprise a long unheard from friend called. The friend's mother had a dream that Jimmy was in trouble. Jimmy and his friend talked. Jimmy was going to hold on a while longer. They were coming to help and planned to be there the next day to see him. Jimmy was shocked. He'd not heard from this friend in a long time; and to be called just at that moment was an absolute miracle.

Jimmy waited hopefully most of the next day. No word came and Jimmy worried it was false hope. But finally, late that day they called and then they arrived. The mother and her church family had been praying about Jimmy. Wow. This was an opening back to a relationship with his Savior. And the to his surprise, he received a gift of enough money from the church family to get back on his feet and start again. What an unexpected turn of events.

When Jimmy thought no one cared or knew his circumstances, he was given proof God comes after His lost sheep. Jimmy says he is now encouraged to share his testimony at all possible times to help others. I know it helped strengthen my faith in our glorious God. This was such a remarkable example of God's grace, love and faithfulness to His children no matter how far we seem to have strayed. How beautiful to know He will never leave or forsake us.

Jimmy's story reminded me of the song Reckless Love by Cory Asbury -
"...There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me..."

Luke 15:3-7, New International Version
Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
