Nora is a lovely Christian friend, who volunteered to support me during a surgical procedure in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, Nora shared this story of her recent struggle and God's Light in the Darkness.

Nora's faith was tested when her daughter was diagnosed with Her2 Positive breast cancer. This was one of the biggest tests of Nora's faith. Fears and worries attacked her mind. And Nora prayed. The Spirit led her to scriptures and encouragement through Christian literature.

Nora read these books along with others for inspiration and strength.

To manage the attacks of fear at each step, Nora started writing scriptures. She found using a notecard scripture booklet made it easy to write and carry these scriptures with her at all times.

Nora added scriptures over time using her Bible; and read these when the dark thoughts of worry and anxiety attacked.

Nora had a Bible, but got a pink Bible when her daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

The Light of God's Word fought off the darkness and carried her through with reminders that He never leaves us. What felt like a enveloping darkness in the beginning turned into a victory in her walk of Faith by the Light of God's Word. Her daughter has a few more struggles ahead, but is healing well and moving forward. Nora still carries the notecard scripture booklet and walks in the Light of God's Word by Faith.

God is good all the time; even in the midst of our most difficult battles. When you feel the darkness is overwhelming you, reach for God's Word and let the Light fend off the darkness.

Psalm 91
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
